Do not prevent thoughts arise, and do not attach to those that have arisen. Let them come and go as they please, do not fight.
Just as you ask with all my heart and relentlessly: "What my own spirit? "
I emphasize this because I want to lead you to self-realization. If you persist in trying to understand with the intellect that is beyond the realm of the intellect, you are condemned to reach an impasse totally disappointing. But go further. Sitting, standing, at work or sleeping, probe relentlessly depths of your ego with the question "What my own spirit? "
Fear nothing other than missing the experience of your true nature. That is the Zen practice.
When intensive interrogation envelop every inch of your being and penetrate deep in the background, the question suddenly explode and substance of the Buddha's mind will be revealed just like a mirror at the bottom of a box offers its reflection once the box is opened. The brightness of spirit that illuminates every corner of a world free of imperfection ... No words can express the joy of this moment.
